So I know the blog's been relatively quiet lately which doesn't mean there's nothing going on. There's actually a lot going on, much of which has nothing to do with books and writing and plenty to do with kids and school and stuff I don't generally write about here. But there is some bookish news...
-I saw the first draft of the cover for The Vision. It's very cool. Simple and clean. Me likey!
-And the official title will be The Vision versus Vision as I've been calling it. My editor had suggested the change months ago and I think it's a better fit with The Mark as well as with the story itself. Still don't have a firm pub date, but should soon.
-I'll be doing my first author event in December with Shari Maurer, Shannon Delany, Jame Richards and Margie Gelbwasser. It's at the Barnes & Noble in Nanuet, NY and includes a writing contest for teens in grades 7-12. Details here (note: you have to be able/willing to travel to the event to win the contest since the prize is a consultation/critique with one of the authors along with a signed copy of their book).
-And I've been spending whatever writing time I've been able to squeeze in on Touch's edits and confirmed that this is the part of writing a book that I looove: finding the meat of the story in the mess of the first draft. More about that next week, provided life doesn't get in the way.
