At Least We Didn't Die

CB052464Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so let us all be thankful.  --Buddha  So cheery, that Buddha.  Here are some of the things I'm thankful for right now, A-Z:

  • Advil.  I do not like pain.
  • Books.  Obvz.
  • Coffee.  Also, Chapstick and Converse
  • Down comforters
  • Everything Buddha said
  • Family
  • Grandmom's potato filling: bacon, onions, butter, celery...yum.
  • Home.  Having backpacked once for 3 weeks without a bed or shower, I've never taken having one for granted.
  • iPhone.  See Top Ten, two posts back.
  • Jeans, especially my Levi's
  • Kit-Kat, my favorite candy bar.
  • Liberty
  • Mail.  I love mail.
  • New York
  • Old pictures
  • Pals
  • Queenie.  This is what my kids call my mom, who is great.  Though not an actual queen.
  • Reading, PA.  My hometown.   Lots of family, lots of memories there.
  • Snow.  There's none here yet, but it's what makes winter special.  It never loses its magic.
  • Tenners, who have made pre-debut a thousand times better/easier/more fun
  • Ugg slippers.  Is anything in the world more comfortable than these?
  • Vitamin D.  I'm sooo not a vitamin-popping health nut, but this is a good one, especially for those living in the winter-dark northeast.
  • Work.  Now that my work is writing.
  • XM Radio.  Never thought I'd be into it, but there are no DJs...what's not to like?
  • You: anyone reading this, because otherwise, what's the point?
  • Zagat, beacuse I love good food.

I'm headed to Boston in the AM so will be offline for a few days.  Happy Thanksgiving!
