The Mark has sold in Indonesia! It’s my first foreign rights sale and I am completely tickled at the idea of my book in another language.
The literal translation is Angka, which sounds fittingly ominous. Though they’ll probably retitle it something completely different. I can’t wait to see what and what the cover will look like…
It comes out there in May. Sounds like a good excuse for a trip, no?

That’s really cool, Jen! Maybe you could walk us through the process of how a book is sold to overseas markets? Why they would change the title and things like that?
Glad The Mark is being so well received. My mom is reading my copy and said she’s getting a copy for my teenage nephew. There’s another copy!

Yay! That’s a great idea for a post Kristin. I’ll have to see if Bloomsbury can give me some insight. I just got an email one day saying congrats, it had sold, and here were the terms. I’m guessing there’s a whole lot more to the story.
